Other ways to get involved

Bexley Volunteer Centre

Bexley ICB works closely with Bexley Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) who run Bexley Volunteer Centre. If you would like to help your community by volunteering for a local charity, they can match you with the right opportunity. If you are starting a community group, BVSC are able to provide a support, advice and development service for community and voluntary organisations. They can also advise you what services are available within your community.

You can find out more about our local voluntary organisations and available volunteering opportunities by following this link: Bexley Voluntary Service Council (

Community Connect

Community Connect is Bexley’s Social Prescribing Service, designed to help local people to improve their health and wellbeing by connecting them with activities, support and services in the community. If you are over 18 and registered with a Bexley GP then you can access the Community Connect service. Any member of your GP practice can make a referral or you can self-refer.

Join your Patient Participation Group

Each surgery across England has a Patient Participation Group (PPG). A PPG is a group of people who are patients of the surgery and want to help it work as well as it can for all its patients, staff and doctors. By joining your surgery’s PPG, you can share your experiences and bring different ideas to the surgery to help them treat patients better or to improve what surgeries do.

For more information on how to become a member of your surgery’s PPG, ask for details at reception.
